In your time, silverware was probably still considered fine tableware. But today, it's usually considered household clutter that people don't know what to do with anymore.
das entscheidende Kriterium, das über den Wert von Silberbesteck entscheidet, ist der Silver content.
Contrary to popular belief, silver cutlery is not made of 100% silver. A distinction must be made between solid silver cutlery and silver-plated cutlery. To determine the silver content, one must examine the hallmark on the cutlery in question.
Possible hallmarks on silver-plated cutlery: 60s, 80s, 90s, 100s or 120s.
Heavy silver cutlery On the other hand, it has a high fine silver content. Possible hallmarks include 800 (indicating a fine silver content of 80%), 835, 925 and others.
We buy all types of silverware, silver cutlery, or individual pieces, whether silver-plated or solid silver.

Silverware evaluation - when true treasures come to light

Over time, we repeatedly find that most people have no idea how beautiful their silver is. With silver cutlery, there's a particular reason for this: the shine has been lost.
This is, however, not a sign of lower quality or a low alloy. The explanation is quite simple and therefore the condition of the cutlery can be improved just as quickly. Silver itself reacts with the hydrogen sulphide contained in the air.
Hydrogen sulfide directly forms the so-called on the surface of the silver cutlery Silver sulfide. This chemical compound, from the sulphide group, unfortunately has the tendency to discolour to black. Consequently, the cutlery appears black to us. It becomes dark and dull, and the entire silver surface becomes spotty. In principle, it is advisable to store silverware in a dark place, away from light and air. A case lined with velvet or a drawer are excellent for valuable tableware.
Would you like your Sell silverware, we shall first restore its original splendour.

after gentle cleansing we see clearly again

Many people clean their precious silver in an aluminium bath. For this purpose, a small bowl is lined with aluminium foil and completely covered with salt. Hot water is poured over the salt, and you wait until the salt grains have dissolved. Then, the silverware is placed in the bowl and left for five to ten minutes. The result is not long in coming; the aluminium foil turns black and the cutlery shines like new underneath. After this thorough bath, the cutlery only needs to be briefly dabbed with a soft cloth.
Although we are very fond of historical artefacts and all their treasures, we are foregoing this method due to time constraints. We clean even more gently using an ultrasonic device and a drop of washing-up liquid. This is gentle, fast and objective. You will be amazed at how your silverware can be sparkling.
